Priyanka Modi Talks Purposeful Living
I was walking with my son today as he cycled slowly on the busy road appreciating our slow life. It made me pause and think about why don't we appreciate the beauty of a slower life more often?
The modern world is full of instant gratification and fast-paced lifestyles that make it difficult to take time for ourselves and truly enjoy the present. We're always chasing after something, whether a promotion at work or the latest purchase.
The morning hustles are the worst when you are in a hurry to pack, eat and rush out through the door. But when you slow down, you start to appreciate the little moments and take it all in.
When we slow down our lives, we become more mindful of how we spend our time and energy. We can focus on things that are important to us, instead of being caught up in pointless tasks or conversations. We can find our enjoyment in the simple things instead of trying to make life more complicated.
A slower life will give you more time to appreciate nature, reflect on your day, exercise or simply do nothing. It's a great way to balance stress and anxiety, allowing you to live in the moment and have more meaningful experiences.
If we take the time to appreciate slow life, it can be incredibly enriching and rewarding. So don't forget to take some time out of your busy schedule and enjoy the beauty of slowing down. I like to call it living with purpose.

Guide to Co-Living In India
Colorful Tibetan flags waving on the mountain breeze, monks walking with prayer wheels in their hands, and shepherds taking their herds across the mountain passes. You will be mistaken that a place inhabited by real nomads doesn’t have much to offer for digital nomads. Or does it?
Located in the Northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh overlooking the inspiring Himalayas, the Dharamsala region has been a melting pot of Tibetan and local Himachali culture for decades.
By Dharamsala region, I am referring to a bunch of villages spread around the main Dharamsala town including McLeodganj (Dalai Lama’s residence), Bhagsu, Naddi, and Dharamkot (also known as little Tel Aviv). Dharamsala region was notified as a smart city in 2017, leading to substantially improved broadband connectivity.
The pandemic popularized workations among young Indian professionals, leading to a boom in cafes and places to work from. Today, Dharamsala is emerging as a world-class mountain destination to work from.
Here is a list of coliving and coworking spaces that are shaping the digital nomad culture here:
Located in village Rakkar in lower Dharamsala, Ghoomakad was started by a few techies in 2013 after a chance encounter with Mohinder, a local who offered to build a mud house for the coliving initiative. I was fortunate to be a resident in 2015 and an operator for a brief period in 2017 of this beautiful place. It is mostly inhabited by young Indian techies and wanderers. The rooms are basic and the coworking space is a little too tight. However, the view is breathtaking and the sound of the water stream flowing all around the property is calming.
Ideal For: Techies, Early Career Professionals
Internet Speed: 100 Mbps
AltSpace is a beautiful and spacious coliving space located in the village Khanyara, not too far from Ghoomakad. Originally conceived as a campus for a coding school, the space is designed for young techies and the community also mirrors that. While great for peace seekers, those wanting to have a mix of peace and activity might find the location isolating.
Ideal For: Techies, Early Career Professionals
Internet Speed: 200 Mbps
The Void is located in Bhagsu village. The place has a dedicated workspace with a speedy wifi and comfortable private rooms designed for long stays. Famous Bhagsy Waterfall is within walking distance and there are plenty of cafes around the corner.
Ideal for: Digital Nomads
Google Rating: 4.9
Internet Speed - 300 mbps
AltLife, located in upper Dharamkot, AltLife is more of a hostel than a coliving space. During the day, you will find a lot of people working from the cafe area, which becomes a party hub in the evenings. It is a bit secluded from the rest of the village and cafes but a 15-minute walk through the woods will get you there. It can get noisy for digital nomads looking for deep working space.
Ideal for: Short stays
Last year, we opened Nomadgao Dharamkot, a coworking-coliving space designed for digital nomads by digital nomads, after setting up 2 locations in Goa. The idea is to give our members a choice between the beach and the mountains. We have 12 aesthetically decorated rooms, a rooftop coworking space with a dedicated deep work zone and ergonomic seating, multiple broadband lines, and a terrace with the best view of the mountains in the entire area. We are located in a quiet corner right at the beginning of the Dharamkot market. For those who want to be more remote, we have recently opened a coworking-coliving space in a Himalayan village inside an apple orchard.
Ideal for: Comfort-seeking digital nomads, Those who prefer deep work
🐦 TWEET OF THE DAY
I've been a #digitalnomad for the last 11 years and have visited and lived in 40 countries.
During that 11 years, I gained a lot of experience on how to be a digital nomad, what you need to know, and what to do before you consider becoming one.
